Profile of SADC
Southeastern Aurora Development Corporation [SADC] is the the Regional Economic Development Board [REDB] encompassing eleven permanent communities along the Southeast Coast of Labrador. We are commonly known as Zone 4, one of 20 REDB's set up across the Province in 1996. Zones 1 to 5 include all of Labrador with the other 15 covering the island portion of the province.

On February 10, 1995, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador announced a new approach to regional economic development when it released Community Matters: the Report of the Task Force on Community Economic Development. Government and community-based organizations recognized that different regions have different needs and opportunities. For this reason, twenty zonal boards were established and charged with citizen-led planning and implementation at the local level for the purpose of planning and implementing regional economic development initiatives.
The Southestern Aurora Development Corporation is a non-profit organization under the direction of a fourteen member Board of Directors and three alternate directors. Our economy vision is that an enterprising, educated, distinctive and prosperous people working together to create a competitive economy based on innovation, creativity, productivity and quality. Our planning process involves consulting with residents and community groups in our area. We need your ideas opinions and knowledge to create a more healthy economy for this area and provide a secure future for us all.

Labrador is renowned for its scenic beauty, history, rich culture, and unique talent. A place of breathtaking mountain ranges, massive rock faces huge lakes and rivers that run forever. Here the air is clean, the water pure, and the people proud and self reliant. A pristine wilderness among the last left on our planet. Combined with the pride and hardworking nature of its people and the natural resources that the land provides, our province is indeed a place of unlimited economic potential.
