has the following position available:
Economic Development Officer
The Southeastern Aurora Development Corporation is inviting applications for the above position. The specific responsibilities include:
Duties:
Responsibilities will include assisting Executive Director with a data collection, analysis and preparation of the SEP and Annual Work plan; assisting in development of funding proposals; helping ongoing business needs of the region; preparing monthly reports for the Board; liaising with Government agencies and private business owners, coordinating meetings; coordinating business meetings, workshops, presentations, etc. ; working closely with area Industry groups communicating new opportunities, initiatives and Government programs to business community, not-for-profits and municipalities.
The Successful candidate will have:
Completion of a university degree is preferred (in business, economics or related field or a combination of related training and experience) along with experience in; economic development, strategic planning, and working with community-based organizations. The successful candidate also should have demonstrated experience in research procedures, proposal writing, along with interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Closing date: November 28, 2011
Applicants must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle and be able to travel extensively within the Zone and Province.
